Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Williams College
The Williams College Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track position in mathematics, beginning July 1, 2027, at the rank of assistant professor. The candidates should have a Ph.D. in Mathematics, by the time of appointment. We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and research, and show evidence of and/or promise for engaging undergraduates in their research programs. The teaching load is two courses per semester; it is also expected that all faculty will participate meaningfully in the Winter Study curriculum during January. Our department offers a vibrant undergraduate program in mathematics, including an option for an emphasis in applied mathematics; for more information, see math.williams.edu. Williams College provides the opportunity to apply for student research assistant support, an annual allocation of funds to support travel and research, a shared computer cluster for parallel computation, a grants office, and several internal research funding opportunities.
